1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the website located at lalamahjong.com (the “Site”) and any services, events, content, or digital properties offered by LA LA Mahjong (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not access or use our Services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Services
We provide mahjong-related social events, gatherings, community meet-ups, online discussions, instructional content, and other related services (“Services”). The availability, location, schedule, or description of these Services may change at our discretion without notice.
4. Bookings, Registration & Payment
4.1 Registration/Booking
By registering or RSVPing for one of our classes, leagues, lessons, and events, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.
4.2 Payment
When payment is required (for example, event registration fees, membership, or special programs), such payment will be processed through third-party payment processors. We may not hold or store your full credit card details ourselves.
4.3 Cancellation & Refund Policy
Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking:
- If you cancel 3 days before the scheduled event, you may be eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made within 2 days of the event may be non-refundable.
- For group events or private bookings with larger numbers of participants (e.g., 20 or more), we may apply a different tiered refund schedule (e.g., full refund if cancelled 10 or more days ahead; 50% refund if cancelled 5–9 days ahead; none if 4 days or less ahead).
- The final guest count for group/private events may be required by a certain deadline; reductions after that deadline may not lower the total fee.
We reserve the right to adjust or clarify the exact cancellation/refund policy for each event and will make that clear at the time of booking.
5. User Conduct
When using our Site or attending our events, you agree:
- To provide accurate, current, and complete information when requested.
- To conduct yourself respectfully and lawfully toward other participants, attendees, staff, hosts, instructors, or venues.
- Not to engage in conduct that is disruptive, abusive, unlawful, or fraudulent.
- Not to copy, distribute, modify, publicly display, or otherwise use our content, materials, or trademarks without our prior written consent.
We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel bookings, terminate your access, or remove you from an event if you violate these Terms.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, materials, logos, designs, trademarks, graphics, videos, instructional materials, and other intellectual property provided by LA LA Mahjong are owned by us or used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works of such materials except as expressly permitted in writing by us.
7. Third-Party Links & Services
Our Site or events may include links to or integrate with third-party websites, services, platforms, or payment processors. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, practices, policies, or security of any third-party services.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our Services, including the Site and any events, are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no guarantee that your use of the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, free of viruses, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LA LA Mahjong, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data or use, arising out of or related to your access or use of, or inability to use, our Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless LA LA Mahjong, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, and partners from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Services, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time in our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Effective Date” above. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You and we agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
